Start at the outside edge of one arm and follow it down to the seat. Measure across the seat, then up and over the opposite arm. Keep the tape against the sofa, following its shape.

This dark blue sofa cover’s really got a nice quality feel to it. The bubble fabric looks good and seems durable, which is exactly what I was hoping for—got a cat who loves to claw everything!
